Metcalf Parent Drop Off & Pick Up
Metcalf Elementary School has a Student Valet Program. This program is designed so you will not need to park or exit your vehicle to drop off your child/children. A school employee will be out front to greet students and direct them to the playground. To help prevent traffic congestion in the student drop off zone, please move as far forward as you can into the drop zone before you allow children to exit the vehicle. All other vehicles behind one another should also follow the same procedure by driving as far forward as you can to help improve traffic flow within the drop off zone. Make sure children exit your vehicle from the right side so your children do not walk or cross into traffic. In addition, for your child’s safety, please don’t drop off students on the corner and allow them to crawl through the gates.
Supervised playground time is available between 7:45 a.m. – 8:05 a.m. Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. will enter the building through the main office area. After 8:10 a.m., any student arriving will be counted as tardy. Please park and sign your child in at this time.
School is dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Metcalf Elementary School requires parents to park for pick up. Kindergarten students require a parent or guardian to sign them out in the MPR; all other students will come out of the front doors.
For your child’s safety, please park at Fairbanks Middle School and walk over to pick up your child if no spots are available in the Metcalf Parking Lot. Parking along the side of Fairbanks near Sage Lane is prohibited. While this is convenient, it isn’t necessarily the safest for pedestrians. It creates an abundant amount of traffic and causes a slower dismissal.
