At Morenci High School, Wildcats are not waiting for opportunity — they are creating it.
The Class of 2026 has continued to raise the bar, demonstrating what is possible when students are willing to work hard, dream big, and take advantage of the opportunities available to them.
This year, 29 out of 88 graduating seniors (33%) earned an Associate’s Degree before receiving their high school diploma, the highest number in Morenci High School history. Several students also graduated with honors distinctions, while 20 seniors earned industry certifications through the Gila Institute for Technology (GIFT) in areas including welding, healthcare, EMT, cosmetology, electrical, and criminal justice.
These accomplishments did not happen by accident.
For many students, success meant 5:30 a.m. bus rides, late-night study sessions, balancing college coursework with extracurricular activities, and managing the responsibilities of both high school and college classes at the same time.
The result is students graduating with college degrees, career certifications, real-world experience, and a head start on their future before even walking across the high school graduation stage.
Through partnerships with Eastern Arizona College and the Gila Institute for Technology, Morenci students continue to prove that big things happen in small towns.
