It’s time to turn in those Chromebooks! Tomorrow all students will turn in their Chromebooks and chargers. Please help us out by wiping the Chromebook and charger down with a lightly damp disinfecting wipe. We appreciate charged Chromebooks and nicely wrapped chargers. – MUSD Technology Department

Good Afternoon 8th Grade Parents, Next Week is packed with exciting things for our 8th grade students. Today we will be sending home a document that has what to expect next week. Attached to it is a permission slip and medical waiver for participation in the Ultimate Bounce activities. There is also a digital link option attached. Please sign and return no later that Wednesday May 22nd. Thursday, May 23rd, will be an early release day for all 8th Grade students. Please note that transportation will not be provided and arrangements will need to be made. Today, a critical incident involving law enforcement occurred in our community. Morenci School District has an emergency lockdown plan and is prepared to enact it when necessary. As events unfold off-campus, our district relies on information from local law enforcement to make informed decisions on implementing lockdown procedures to safeguard students and staff. Local law enforcement communicated to MUSD that while this was a critical incident, it was contained and did not require placing our schools in lockdown. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. As always, we encourage our community to stay aware and report any concerns, contributing to the ongoing safety of everyone in our community.

Doctors and providers from Family Medical Center are partnering with Eastern Arizona College to offer a free sports physical clinic for local student athletes from Graham, Greenlee, and Cochise counties for the 2024 – 2025 school year. The clinic will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 09:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Science and Allied Health building, Room 103. The Science and Allied Health building, formerly known as the Math-Science building, is located at 834 N. College Avenue, in Thatcher. Parents should contact local schools to obtain the required forms. Please make sure to answer all the history questions and provide detail as indicated.

Reminder for FMS Parents, Free sports physicals. We are excited to have your student participate in sports. Please make sure to complete all the forms provided in the sports physical packet available on the district website, the link at the end of this message or pick up iforms in the Fairbanks front office. All athletes 5th -8th grade planning on playing sports during the 2024/2025 school year need a physical before they can practice. Physicals will be at Fairbanks Middle School Tuesday May 7, 2024 for the coming school year. Physicals are provided FREE as a courtesy of the Morenci School District on this day only. Only students that have returned completed sports physical packets by May 6,2024 will be allowed to see the Doctor to get their physical. The Lady Cat Softball team has secured a State First Round home game against Chandler Prep. The game will be played Saturday April 27th at 11:00. Since this is an AIA sponsored event all tickets must be purchased through GoFan. Only tickets purchased online and AIA passes will be accepted for entry. Tickets will be checked at the gate when driving into the fields. Use the QR code to purchase tickets and come support the Lady Cats!
