Today, a critical incident involving law enforcement occurred in our community. Morenci School District has an emergency lockdown plan and is prepared to enact it when necessary. As events unfold off-campus, our district relies on information from local law enforcement to make informed decisions on implementing lockdown procedures to safeguard students and staff. Local law enforcement communicated to MUSD that while this was a critical incident, it was contained and did not require placing our schools in lockdown. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. As always, we encourage our community to stay aware and report any concerns, contributing to the ongoing safety of everyone in our community.
