Our preschoolers read the book Balloons Over Broadway and learned how the Macy's Day parade came to be. We decided to get crafty and have our own parade. Thank you preschool families for always supporting MELC, all the balloons were amazing.

The Fairbanks Hike and Ski Club took on the beautiful Echo Canyon Trail at Chiricahua National Monument, and the trail did not disappoint! The kids had some unforgettable moments: they marveled at how rocks seemed to balance perfectly on top of one another, sang songs on the bus ride, and even survived spotting a snake in the wild! The 3-mile loop was full of learning and adventure. They discovered that Echo Canyon is known for its towering spires, formed by millions of years of erosion. They explored grottos, natural rock shelters, and marveled at the spires, tall rock formations that seemed to reach for the sky. They also checked out some caves and enjoyed the stunning views all around them. The Fairbanks Hike and Ski Club showed their adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors today. Stay tuned for their next adventure! #wearemorenci #weareexplorers #fmshikeandskiclub

Good evening, Morenci High School Families. Today at Morenci High School, shortly before the end of the day, we received information that a student might have a firearm in their vehicle. Administration immediately contacted law enforcement, who conducted a search of the vehicle and found an unloaded firearm and ammunition, as described. The student admitted they had been hunting earlier in the week and had forgotten to remove it from the car. Police have investigated the situation thoroughly and confirmed no danger or threat to the school or our students. We take this matter very seriously, and appropriate actions will follow. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe.
